Freight Forwarding Clerk

Are you an experienced Shipping Clerk / Freight operations account manager looking for an opportunity to grow your career with a successful freight company?Due to growth and expansion, we currently have 2 roles available - 1 for an experienced Shipping Clerk and another for an experienced Freight Operations Supervisor/Accounts ManagerFull-time Mon - Fri 8.30 - 17.00Location: Dartford, DA2Salary: £28k - £27k (Depending on experience and which role you are eligible for) with performance-related bonus schemeWe on the lookout for a dedicated operations freight clerk / account manager to join our team of Operations Specialists.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Shipping and Freight Forwarding industry, with a focus on ensuring the satisfaction of our customers and the efficient transport of goods globally. Ideally, you will have experience in all stages from quoting, to customs to ensuring the customer receives their products on time.Day to Day of the role:

• Manage customer shipments from initiation to completion as part of a team of Logistics Specialists.

• Keep customers proactively informed about the progress of their shipments.
• Source and supply necessary paperwork for smooth transport of shipments.
• Liaise closely with overseas partners to monitor shipment progress.
• Maintain direct communication with the management team and Directors, fostering strong internal and external relationships.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in the Logistics and Freight Forwarding industry, including Sea FCL/LCL, air, and road freight.

• Familiarity with cross-trade business management.
• Proficiency in MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of the HMRC CDS system and experience preparing UK Import & Export custom entries.
• Customer-facing experience.

• Ability to make independent decisions under time pressure.
