Fresh People are currently lookingfor an AccountsAssistant for our client, a global fresh produce business based in Dartford, Kent. This role involves supporting the finance team with invoice processing, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
The Candidate
Candidates must be fluent in Dutch with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or studying for a qualification such as AAT. 2 to 5 years of relevant experience is preferred. Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Process incoming invoices, supplier payments, and staff expenses.
- Reconcile supplier statements, resolve disputes, and monitor aged debtor arrears.
- Produce sales invoices, customer statements, and assist with consignment accounting entries.
- Maintain accurate Grower payment summaries and communicate price returns and settlements.
- Post and reconcile company credit card transactions and general journal entries.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and weekly sales summaries.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting, fixed asset register updates, and monthly depreciation journals.
- Support year-end audit preparations, including schedules and supporting documentation.
- Continuously improve D365 processes for cost classification and supplier/customer setup.
- Collaborate with the team to meet financial reporting deadlines and complete ad-hoc projects.
Requirements
- Fluent Dutch speaker (required).
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or AAT qualification in progress.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team.
