Administrator - Rail | Dartford | Up to £33,000 | Hybrid

The Opportunity:

Are you an Administrator or Planner within the Rail industry,  ready to work for a Global Track Maintenance Specialist, and be supported to complete further training and qualifications?

Opportunity for an Administrator with Rail experience to be supported to begin a career within Planning - you will use your excel and SAP skills to make yourself indispensable to this £multimillion company, holding the responsibility for managing the movements of on-track machinery on the railways. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Formulating Machinery plans from customer requirements
  • Maximise availability and number of planned shifts
  • Meet contractual requirements relevant to the role and provide performance data and other information as required
  • Compliant with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain documentation as required for the role
  • To undertake training as required
  • Inform Manager of any issues / problems in a timely manner, which are outside your remit of control
  • To liaise with the Team Leader/Machine Managers, Planning & Control Manager, Operations Managers, Standards Managers, Maintenance Managers,Crews and Controllers as necessary
  • Rostering and crew allocation
  • Ensure the ‘Rostering Guidelines’ are followed and adhered when creating a roster
  • Ensure the Fatigue Risk Index is utilised to measure fatigue
  • Liaise with Customers and third parties on a regular basis to ensure delivery of contractual requirements, as well as reporting of any problems as required.
  • Accurate forecasting of operational shifts and external route conductor requirements
  • To assist managers in other planning activities
  • To liaise with the Customer on a regular basis and report any problems as required
  • To provide any statistical or other information as required
  • To ensure electronic and manual filing systems/records are maintained for audit purposes
  • To assist the  Planning Manager in providing draft related policies and procedures

Candidate Essentials:

  • Administrative experience within Rail sector
  • Ready to be supported and trained as a Planner 
  • Highly proficient with Excel software.
  • Attention to detail, able to spin multiple plates, with great communication skills.
  • Planning experience within on track plant maintenance planning (or Rail experience within freight or passenger planning, or production/ materials planning experience).(desirable). 
  • Rostering experience (desirable).
