Job Description:
My client, a succesful 10m turnoverbuilding services companyare seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD MEP CAD Technician to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying, and managing AutoCAD MEP drawings for mechanical and electrical systems on retail and office fit outs. You will work closely with our engineering team to ensure that our designs are accurate, efficient, and comply with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify AutoCAD MEP drawings for mechanical, electrical, systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technical teams to understand project requirements and design specifications.
- Ensure that all CAD drawings comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform detailed checks to ensure the accuracy and quality of the drawings.
- Provide support in the preparation of as-built drawings and documentation.
- Assist in coordination and troubleshooting with other design disciplines.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in AutoCAD MEP software.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an AutoCAD MEP CAD Technician,in a building services or engineering environment.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience in MEP systems design and drafting.
- Knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., NEC, ASHRAE, etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A relevant technical qualification in engineering or a related field (e.g., HNC, HND, or equivalent) is desirable.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Revit MEP or other 3D CAD software.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the building services sector.
