Do you have a passion for driving excellence in product quality and regulatory compliance? We are looking for a Homologation Engineer to join a leading organisation at their state-of-the-art facility in Dartford. This role is key to ensuring the company’s products meet all relevant type approval, homologation, and conformity of production requirements, enabling them to continue delivering high-quality solutions across a diverse customer base.

The Role: As a Homologation Engineer, you will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing product quality while supporting various engineering and project teams. Your focus will be on ensuring that products meet type approval standards, managing homologation processes, and ensuring compliance across the entire value stream. You’ll also be responsible for liaising with testing services, regulatory authorities, and customers to ensure that all homologation activities are carried out smoothly.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative and innovative environment where your contribution will directly impact the quality and safety of the products delivered to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage type approval processes, extensions, and cessation of production for product and project teams.
  • Support the organisation in meeting Conformity of Production (CoP) requirements throughout the supply chain.
  • Own and maintain type approval, homologation, and product conformity procedures and documentation.
  • Liaise with testing services and regulatory authorities, representing the organisation in homologation activities.
  • Provide customer support for whole vehicle homologation activities.
  • Assist the procurement department to ensure compliance in assembly plant clearances and continuing conformity post-product release.
  • Provide support to the Quality Assurance team as needed throughout the year.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications or apprenticeship in engineering (minimum of National Diploma level).
  • At least three years of industry experience in a customer and supplier-facing role, particularly within the automotive supply chain or a closely aligned industry.
  • Strong understanding of Conformity of Production (CoP), Type Approval, Homologation, and relevant regulatory standards (e.g., CE, UKCA, FCC, IC, RoHS, REACH, WEEE).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively with strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
