Graduate Controls & Automation Engineer
Our client are leading control system and equipment providers within the power generation sector, based in East London.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented graduate to join their controls and automation team and learn from expert professionals and gain industry expertise to supplement their academic background.
Whether have recently graduated within a relevant subject or a junior, degree qualified engineer with a few years' experience - this could be the opportunity for you.
Position Overview:
Our client are offering a permanent position to an ambitious graduate/junior electrical engineer to gain a broad array of practical experience over the course of a two year period.
It is essential for candidates to have a clear interest in the power generation industry and be willing to embark on a long-term career within a rapidly growing business - in return you will receive amazing career development opportunities.
Examples of experience and equipment exposure you will gain:
* Industrial automation equipment, PLCs and SCADA
* Design of Control Systems
* MQTT and IIoT emerging technologies
* Industrial networks.
* Digital control systems
* Application of engineering and computing expertise to investigate complex problems.
Examples of Key Responsibilities:
- Design and development of control systems for power generation facilities.
- Assist and collaborate with senior engineers, consultants and multidisciplinary teams - gaining industry experience and knowledge, implementing solutions
- Integration of automation solutions for business and industry
- End-to-end project assistance - from initial design studies to electrical DC and AV design, panel manufacture, PLC software, SCADA design and programming
- Testing, commissioning, and maintenance of control systems
- Gain an understanding of compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
Required experience and qualifications:
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, such as: Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering or any other subject with exposure to controls and automation
- Relevant experience within a control and automation role would be advantageous but not essential
- Possess a keen interest in the Power Generation Industry and relevant equipment
- Excellent communicator - both written and verbal
- Ambitious with a clear drive to succeed
