About The Company:A respected and revered organisation within the Construction and Materials sector, they are going through an extended period of growth and are looking to further develop their Commercial Insights team.The Role:This is a Financial Data Analyst position, the reports into the Commercial Business Group Leader and other senior department heads.  The company is actively seeking someone who is keen to make the role their own – this is a developing role and the scope of the role for the right candidate would include significant progression opportunityKey Responsibilities:
  • Data Collection and Management - Gathering and organising financial data from various sources, including financial statements, databases, and reports, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Data Analysis - Performing data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights, using statistical and analytical tools to support financial planning and decision-making.
  • Financial Modelling - Assisting in the development and maintenance of financial models to forecast future financial performance, evaluate business scenarios, and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Reporting - Preparing financial reports and presentations, summarising analysis findings, and providing insights to support management decisions.
  • Variance Analysis - Conducting variance analysis to compare actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying the reasons for variances, and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Market Research - Conducting market research and analysis to understand industry trends, competitive dynamics, and economic factors that may impact the organisation's financial performance.
  • Collaboration - Working closely with other departments, such as finance, accounting, and operations, to support financial analysis and reporting needs.
  • Ad-hoc Analysis - Performing ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as requested by management, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
Desirable Skills:
  • Demonstrable background in Financial, Data or Business Analytics.
  • 2+ years’ experience of working in an analytically focussed role.
  • Some exposure to product focussed businesses.
