Warehouse Shift Manager

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and dynamic Warehouse Shift Manager, to work in a fully operational (365) busy warehouse facility on the outskirts of Dartford

The role will involve assisting in the day to day running of this busy warehouse, reporting into the Warehouse Manager and other related contacts in the business

This is a new role and therefore you will need to have excellent organisational & communication skills , along with a background in warehouse management. The role will offer lots of opportunities and prospects for the right person looking to add value and make a difference and also who has great knowledge & understanding of the running of operations & logistics of a warehouse

Responsibilities:

• Efficient and safe loading and unloading of vehicles to strict deadlines
• Accurate counting of stock on and off the vehicles
• Ensuring the security of the premises
• Rota planning of warehouse team
• Training the team and assisting with the development of in-house training
• Deputise for the Warehouse Manager where necessary
• Ensuring seamless handover to the day crew
• Following internal warehouse policies and procedures

Key Skills Required:

• A proven background in large warehouse supervision/management
• Ability to manage a team
• Good Organisational Skills
• Good communication skills both written and verbal are required
• Flexibility on duties and working hours
• Knowledge of Health and Safety practices within a warehouse
• Ideally proven experience in recruitment, inductions, training and disciplinaries
• Good level of literacy, numeracy and computer literate
• FLT counterbalance and bendy truck license is an advantage
