Manufacturing Engineer - Manufacturing and Calibration

Our client has been established for almost 20 years and are a global market leader in the supply of analytical instruments, specialty diagnostics, clinical development solutions, laboratory, pharmaceutical and biotechnology services for supply across the world, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineer to complement their professional team.

Tasked with maintaining and repairing production and site services equipment to drive efficiencies through continuous improvement and TPM/Lean tools, the successful Manufacturing Engineer candidate will apply a range of mechanical engineering skills including installation, condition-based monitoring, fault finding and servicing in order to delivering "right first time" planned maintenance in a busy manufacturing environment.

Core duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Driving capital expenditure projects through to completion whilst maintaining world-class standards.
  • Developing and implementing One Point Lessons (OPL's) and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs) to improve equipment usage.
  • Training operating teams in Autonomous Maintenance (AM) to foster inclusion and collaboration.
  • Utilising TPM/Lean tools to successfully implement continuous improvement and process change initiatives, such as Kaizen activity, Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), 5S, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Actively participating in the company's Practical Process Improvement (PPI) program.
  • Applying Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to breakdowns, ensuring all corrective and preventative actions are completed.
  • Liaising with and supervising external contractors and service engineers, ensuring adherence to safety procedures.

To be considered for this exceptional Manufacturing Engineer opportunity it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified to at least HNC or above in a relevant Mechanical or Process Engineering discipline with a solid electrical engineering appreciation, and able to demonstrate at least 3 years' experience gained in an FMCG Pharma/Food environment with specific experience aligned to process or packing.

You will be proficient in the MS Suite of packages with a proven track record of continuous improvement project involvement and delivery, and essentially able to participate in an On-call Rota, living within a 1-hour commute radius of the Dartford facility.
