I am looking for a well established and experienced Site Manager who has relevant experience managing complex power transmission or infrastructure projects.
The Role:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Site Manager to be part of a prestigious underground tunnelling power project. This pivotal role involves overseeing the execution of a significant infrastructure project while upholding strict health, safety, and environmental regulations. As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities, coordinating various teams, and working closely with stakeholders to ensure the project's success.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Safety, Compliance, Quality & Environmental Responsibility
- Support accident and incident investigations while fostering a proactive safety culture across the site.
- Implement and maintain safe working systems, ensuring compliance with relevant safety legislation and industry standards.
- Carry out regular Safety and Environmental Walkthroughs as well as Sensible Monitoring Tours to enforce safety protocols.
- Ensure work is delivered "Right First Time," meeting both client expectations and safety requirements.
- Promote sustainability by implementing eco-friendly practices, minimising environmental impact, and using energy-efficient methods where feasible.
Project Planning & Progress Tracking
- Prepare and review both internal and external reports, coordinating with stakeholders to aid in decision-making processes.
- Plan, review, and update the lookahead schedule using APHEX software to ensure that project milestones are met.
- Maintain comprehensive project records, reporting progress, risks, and hazards as necessary for smooth project execution.
Project Leadership & Team Coordination
- Direct, manage, and motivate the on-site team to deliver projects in alignment with client requirements.
- Supervise subcontractors to guarantee high-quality, on-time completion of work within the defined project scope.
- Empower and support the team to effectively handle issues, while escalating potential risks when necessary.
- Take responsibility for developing the skills and leadership of on-site personnel and maintaining strong site ownership.
Continuous Improvement & Strategic Contribution
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives by participating in best practice workshops and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the project.
- Incorporate sustainability goals into the project planning and execution to ensure long-term viability and compliance with corporate environmental targets.
- Contribute to risk and opportunity assessments, helping to achieve project success through support of strategic goals and KPIs.
Essential Requirements:
- SMSTS Certification
- Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor Qualification
- SEATS Certification
- National Grid Competent Person (NSI 4 or NSI 6 & 8)
- EUSR Cat One Certification
- Proven experience in civil works and National Grid projects (TP163)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Capable of managing multiple tasks effectively and performing well under pressure
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in managing complex power transmission or infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in O365 and project management software
- Experience with APHEX software
- Experience with underground, tunnel, and shaft projects
