Role Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled M&E Estimator with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical and electrical systems within luxury construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of M&E components, and the ability to collaborate with design, procurement, and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for M&E systems, including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, fire protection, and energy systems.

  • Tender Preparation: Analyze project specifications, drawings, and requirements to develop competitive bids and proposals.

  • Supplier & Subcontractor Liaison: Source and evaluate quotes from M&E suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with project standards.

  • Value Engineering: Identify opportunities to optimize costs without compromising quality or performance.

  • Risk & Compliance Analysis: Assess project risks and ensure estimates align with industry regulations, safety standards, and sustainability requirements.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, design teams, and procurement specialists to align M&E cost planning with overall project objectives.

  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and new technologies in M&E systems.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in M&E estimating within the construction sector, preferably in high-end residential or commercial projects.

  • Education: Degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.

  • Skills: Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.

  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of M&E components, installation methods, and market rates.

  • Software Proficiency: Experience with estimating software such as Trimble, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or equivalent.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to produce accurate estimates and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
