Reed Procurement are working exclusively with an established company towards Dartford, that are on the lookout for a Procurement Assistant to join their growing team.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in procurement, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships, ensuring effective communication.
  • Conduct supplier negotiations and place purchase orders, managing them to ensure timely delivery of goods/services.
  • Manage the ‘day-to-day’ operations of various procurement databases, such as supplier files, delivery notes, and supplier price lists.
  • Participate in supplier selection/assessment and rating processes.
  • Plan and prepare forward import orders based on forecasted depot requirements, benchmarked against historical sales figures.
  • Prepare cost analysis reports on procurement activities to support informed decision-making by the Procurement Manager.
  • Review and research market opportunities to assist in increasing sales margins and turnover.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience within a procurement team, with exposure to both ‘direct’ and ‘indirect’ spend categories.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capability to negotiate/influence and challenge strong personalities.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and prioritising skills with a strong focus on detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Commercial and financial awareness.
