Job Summary:

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of our glazing and curtain walling projects. This role requires a strong understanding of cost management, procurement, and contract administration within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Management: Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities.
• Procurement: Support in procuring materials and subcontractor services, ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to project specifications.
• Contract Administration: Assist in managing contracts, including contract negotiations, variations, and claims.
• Valuations: Conduct regular site visits to monitor and report on project progress and prepare interim valuations.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare cost reports and forecasts to ensure projects are completed within budget.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with projects.
• Tendering: Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tender documents and submissions.
• Project Support: Provide support to the project management team in delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
• Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant legal, contractual, and company standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: Previous experience in quantity surveying, particularly within the glazing or curtain walling industry, is preferred but the client will look at other sectors within the construction industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, or similar) and MS Office Suite.
• Analytical Skills: Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle complex tasks.
• Organizational Skills: Effective organizational and time management skills.
