HGV Mechanic

Overview
We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles. As an HGV Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet, contributing to the smooth operation of our logistics services.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on heavy goods vehicles to identify faults and issues.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on various components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
  • Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out repairs and assembly tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, including parts used and time taken for each job.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while working in the workshop environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
  • Assist in heavy lifting and moving of equipment as required during repair processes.

Experience

  • Proven experience in equipment repair and maintenance of heavy goods vehicles is essential.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues effectively.
  • Familiarity with welding techniques and soldering is advantageous.
  • Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in performing heavy lifting tasks and operating machinery safely.
