Quality Assurance Engineer | Aerospace industry | Darwen | 4 Day working week (Monday - Thursday) | Up to 40,000

MERITUS are working with an industry leader in Aerospace manufacturing looking to grow their Quality division due to new growth, they're looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join their site in Darwen.

This exciting role involves ensuring the highest standards of quality for advanced composite and metal components used in civil and defence applications. You will work on cutting-edge projects, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

The role is based in Darwen & the company operate a 4 day working week with compressed hours Monday to Thursday & every Friday off.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality assurance plans and processes to meet stringent aerospace industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials, components, and finished products, ensuring compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to integrate robust quality controls throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Perform supplier audits and address quality issues with effective corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Skills

  • A degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering; certifications such as Six Sigma or AS9100 Lead Auditor are advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of quality engineering experience within the aerospace sector.
  • Strong proficiency in quality management systems, root cause analysis, and supplier quality audits.
  • Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills for effective team collaboration.
