Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Role Overview:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' learning and well-being, ensuring they thrive in a nurturing and secure environment. Your responsibilities will include providing care support as needed and implementing positive behaviour management strategies tailored to each student.

Establishing strong, supportive relationships with students is key to creating a safe and enjoyable learning environment. Additionally, you will collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging and differentiated educational activities that promote students' holistic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in planning and evaluating learning activities.
  • Provide constructive feedback on student progress.
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting student progress in line with school policies.
  • Support positive behaviour and adapt responses to changes in student behaviour.
  • Promote holistic development and British values within the curriculum.
  • Exhibit flexibility and a willingness to assist as needed in diverse SEN environments.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience in SEN settings and a valid UK driving license.
  • Level 2 or higher qualification in Support Work for Teaching and Learning.
  • Minimum GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
  • Knowledge or experience working with SEN or SEMH/ASD is advantageous.
  • Creativity and positivity in prioritising the individual needs of each child.
