MERITUS are recruiting for a Semi Skilled Fitter to join our client in the aviation industry on an initial 12 month contract to support major projects in the new year. PLEASE NOTE: You must have an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in order to apply for this role.

SEMI SKILLED FITTER - £NEG PER HOUR PAYE - 12 MONTHS - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS - GREATER BLACKBURN

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the assembly and fitting of aerospace components and structures, ensuring adherence to engineering drawings and specifications.
Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality and optimal performance.
Conduct routine inspections and quality checks on assembled parts to verify compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with skilled fitters and engineers to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Report any issues, defects, or discrepancies observed during the fitting process to supervisors or quality control.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance productivity, efficiency, and product quality.

Requirements:

Basic mechanical knowledge with experience using hand tools and power tools.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably within the aerospace industry.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
Eagerness to learn and develop new skills through on-the-job training.
Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as required.
