MERITUS are recruiting for a Semi Skilled Fitter to join our client in the aviation industry on an initial 12 month contract to support major projects in the new year. PLEASE NOTE: You must have an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in order to apply for this role.
SEMI SKILLED FITTER - £NEG PER HOUR PAYE - 12 MONTHS - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS - GREATER BLACKBURN
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the assembly and fitting of aerospace components and structures, ensuring adherence to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality and optimal performance.
- Conduct routine inspections and quality checks on assembled parts to verify compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with skilled fitters and engineers to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Report any issues, defects, or discrepancies observed during the fitting process to supervisors or quality control.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
Requirements:
- Basic mechanical knowledge with experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably within the aerospace industry.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills through on-the-job training.
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as required.
