MERITUS are recruiting for a detail-oriented and experienced Hand Router Operator to work on the fabrication and finishing of composite and metal components.
HANDROUTE OPERATOR - UP TO 13.50 PAYE- DARWEN - 12 MONTHS (EXTENDABLE) 4 DAY WEEK (MON-THURS) - 37 HOURS PER WEEK (OVERTIME PREMIUM RATE) - ONSITE ROLE - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW ONSITE
The successful candidate will use hand routers and other tools to shape, trim, and finish parts, ensuring each component meets exact specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate hand routers, precision cutting tools, and other equipment to shape, trim, and finish composite and metal components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to accurately complete routing tasks.
- Inspect finished parts for precision, quality, and adherence to specifications.
- Perform minor adjustments and maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure consistent performance and quality.
- Work closely with the quality control team to identify and resolve any issues with components.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organised work area.
Skillset/experience required:
- Previous experience as a Hand Router Operator, preferably in aerospace or a related manufacturing industry.
- Proficient in using hand routers, precision cutting tools, and measuring instruments.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
- Experience working with both composite and metal materials in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards, such as AS9100 or NADCAP.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment maintenance.
