SEMI-SKILLED FITTER - INSIDE IR35 - £22 PER HOUR - DARWEN - 12 MONTHS (EXTENDABLE) 4 DAY WEEK - 37 HOURS PER WEEK (OVERTIME PREMIUM RATE) - ONSITE ROLE- SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW ONSITE MERITUS are recruiting for Semi-Skilled Fitters to join our client in Darwen on an initial 6-month contract to work on exciting aerospace programmes.You will assist in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of aerospace components.Responsibilities

  • Assist in the assembly and fitting of aerospace components and structures according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on tools and equipment.
  • Carry out routine inspections and quality checks on assembled parts to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Work closely with skilled fitters and engineers to complete tasks.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Report any issues or defects identified during the fitting process to supervisors or quality control.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Skillset/experience required:

  • Basic mechanical knowledge and experience with hand tools and power tools.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills through on-the-job training.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights as required by the job.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in the aerospace industry.
