MERITUS are recruiting for a experienced Tooling Mechanic to support the production process of aerospace composite parts with our client in Darwen.

TOOLING MECHANIC - UP TO £13.50 PAYE- DARWEN - 12 MONTHS (EXTENDABLE) 4 DAY WEEK (MON-THURS) - 37 HOURS PER WEEK (OVERTIME PREMIUM RATE) - ONSITE ROLE - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW

You will play a crucial role in supporting the manufacturing processes by ensuring the integrity and functionality of tooling used for the production of aerospace components. You will work closely with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain tooling, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, and maintain tooling used for the fabrication of composite and metal components.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and improve tooling designs.
  • Perform routine maintenance and modifications on existing tooling.
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of tooling repairs and modifications.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations.

Skillset/experience required:

  • Technical certification in tooling, machining, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Tooling Mechanic or similar role in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of composite and metal manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
