We are collaborating with a progressive school committed to delivering exceptional education and care for students aged 10-19 with various needs, including Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, and other conditions.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated SEN TA - Level 1-2 to join this vibrant team in Darwen. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in guiding students through their educational journey, ensuring their well-being, and fostering a nurturing and secure learning environment. Your responsibilities will include providing care support when needed and implementing individualised positive behaviour management strategies.

Building strong, supportive relationships with students is essential for creating a safe and enjoyable learning space. You'll also work closely with teachers to deliver engaging, differentiated educational activities that support students' holistic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in planning and evaluating learning activities.
  • Provide constructive feedback on student progress.
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting student progress in line with school policies.
  • Support positive behaviour and adapt responses to changes in student behaviour.
  • Promote holistic development and British values within the curriculum.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist as needed in various tasks within the SEN environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in SEN settings preferred.
  • Valid UK driving license preferred.
  • Level 2 or higher qualification in Support Work for Teaching and Learning preferred.
  • Minimum of GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
  • Knowledge or experience working with SEN or SEMH/ASD is advantageous.
  • Creativity and positivity in approach, prioritising individual needs of each child.
