The Accountancy & Finance Division at The ONE Group is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Assistant to manage the end-to-end payroll process for our remarkable and growing business. In this standalone role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with statutory requirements, and addressing payroll queries. The ideal candidate will have strong technical payroll knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently.

As the Senior Payroll Assistant, your key responsibilities include:

End-to-End Payroll Management:

  • Process payroll for all employees, handling wages, deductions, bonuses, and updates
  • Ensure timely, accurate payroll submission in line with company schedules
  • Manage payroll adjustments for new hires, leavers, and salary changes

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with UK payroll laws, including PAYE, NIC, and pensions
  • Submit statutory filings (RTI, P60s, P11Ds) and manage year-end processes

Pensions and Benefits Administration:

  • Administer auto-enrolment and ensure pension contributions are correct
  • Manage salary sacrifice schemes, health insurance, and other benefits

Payroll Reconciliation and Reporting:

  • Reconcile payroll accounts and provide financial reporting
  • Collaborate with finance on payroll data for budgets and audits

Other payroll duties:

  • Respond to payroll queries and explain payslips, tax codes, and deductions
  • Maintain payroll systems and ensure data accuracy

As the Senior Payroll Assistant, you must demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience in end to end payroll, with knowledge of UK legislations
  • Previous experience using Payroll Software
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with employees and stakeholders
