Shift Patterns: 3pm to 11pm Monday to Friday, with 30min unpaid break.

Barker Ross is currently recruiting for a Recycling Operative with FLT for our client specialising in recycling Waste streams for individual clients.

This is a temporary ongoing position, with the potential to join the company following a successful probation period.

The main purpose of the Waste Operative is to work in conjunction with Site Management to safely deliver through put of waste in the Transfer Station and be responsible for contributing to waste management, processes, and standards on site.
The Job Summary:

Recycling Waste Operator to ensure waste streams are collected and segregated correctly. These can consist of metals, cardboard, wood, general waste and hazardous (oils, batteries etc.)
Working with all site staff assisting with the smooth operation of client site
Provide client with innovations and waste segregation best practice.
Provide Health and safety support whilst on site, ensuring site adhere to H&S, EA and other regulatory body's policy and procedures.

Responsibilities:
Daily pre-use inspections on all plant and defect reported.
Loading and unloading incoming and outgoing loads
Processing contents of wheelie bins into appropriate storage containers
Maximizing value with waste on site through permitted activities
Ensuring sumps on site have sufficient capacity and pumped out if required.
Ensuring general housekeeping is maintained on a regular basis.
Ensure all waste streams are segregated and stored safely and compliantly.
Adhering to current company policies, procedures, and legislation
Working with all regulations set out by the HSE, EA any other regulatory board.
Proactively support and embed a generative safety culture.
Any other reasonable duties as and when required.
Forklift driving experience preferable.

To be successful you will need:

To be aware that the working areas are often out in all-weather terrain (full PPE issued), often sorting and processing waste revenue streams outdoors.

FLT / Counterbalance License is essential.
