Yard Operative
Location: Daventry
Standard Shift: Monday to Friday 0800-1730
Hourly Rate: £12.75-£13.25phr
Status: Permanent
Exceptional opportunity to work for a family run business, working with really great people who are hardworking where no two days are ever the same!
- Keeping the yards and sheds tidy doorways swept and any spillages to be kept to a minimum
- Tipping vehicles into sheds or intake pits and loading lorries with the JCB telehandler. No licence required.
- Previous experience of driving loading shovels advantageous however not essential as full training given. There would also be a requirement to drive yard shunters (HGVs) but no licence required as off public road.
- Setting out aeration ducts in the stores and removing as the shed is emptied making sure to not to damage the ducts.
- Assisting the lab with taking grain samples from the stores and checking grain temperatures.
- Basic lab testing (moisture, specific weight, screenings etc) full training will be provided
- Basic vehicle maintenance on yard vehicles
- Assisting cleaning in and around the processing plants if required.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Flexible, adaptable, great work ethic
- Stable employment history
- Ideally experienced within the Agriculture sector specifically grain and hold a validtelehandler or loading shovel licence or similar
