Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team in Daventry. If you are passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and making a difference in their learning experience, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with a range of special educational needs (SEN) on a one-to-one or small group basis.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement tailored learning plans and strategies.
  • Assist in the development of learning resources and classroom materials to ensure accessibility for all pupils.
  • Promote an inclusive learning environment where all children feel confident and supported.
  • Monitor and record progress of students, providing feedback to the class teacher and parents where appropriate.
  • Support students with personal care and other individual needs as required.
  • Encourage independence, social skills, and positive behavior.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, preferably with special educational needs (SEN).
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • Knowledge of SEN provisions and strategies to support a range of needs (autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, etc.).
  • A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual students.
  • A relevant qualification such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
