SEN Teaching Assistant - Daventry

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Daventry, Northamptonshire
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

Support children with a range of special educational needs (SEN) on a one-to-one or small group basis.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement tailored learning plans and strategies.
Assist in the development of learning resources and classroom materials to ensure accessibility for all pupils.
Promote an inclusive learning environment where all children feel confident and supported.
Monitor and record progress of students, providing feedback to the class teacher and parents where appropriate.
Support students with personal care and other individual needs as required.
Encourage independence, social skills, and positive behavior.

Key Requirements:

Experience working with children, preferably with special educational needs (SEN).
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
Knowledge of SEN provisions and strategies to support a range of needs (autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, etc.).
A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual students.
A relevant qualification such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
