Learning Support Assistant - Deal
Academics in Canterbury are seeking a dedicated and passionate Full-Time Learning Support Assistant with a specialisation in autism to join a lovely SEN school in Deal, Kent. This school is committed to providing inclusive education and fostering an environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with autism in their learning and social development.
- Work closely with teachers to implement individualised education plans.
- Provide one-on-one and group support during lessons and activities.
- Foster a nurturing and supportive classroom environment.
- Assist with the development of communication and social skills.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers and external professionals to ensure optimal support for students.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- A relevant qualification in education or special needs (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
- Demonstrated experience working with children with autism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to promoting inclusivity.
- Knowledge of autism-related strategies and interventions is preferred.
