Speech and Language Therapist - Deal, Kent

Academics in Canterbury are currently working closely with an independent day specialist school and college who require a Speech and Language Therapist to start ASAP.

This school specialise in teaching children and young people aged 6 to 25 who have diagnoses such ASD, DLD, anxiety, speech, language and communication needs, dyspraxia or dyslexia. They have an exciting opportunity to expand their team of dedicated therapists and therapy assistants. Ideally, the successful candidate will have some prior experience of working in a school setting.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for working with children individually, in small groups or within the classroom to develop and deliver holistic, person-centred intervention programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in shaping the way Occupational Therapy is delivered in the school with a strong emphasis on sensory, physical, life skills and environmental needs.
  • Work independently and autonomously, but with regular support and supervision.
  • Input into the EHCP process by providing your professional opinions and recommendations at annual reviews, both in person and through written reports.
