Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing mechanical and building services engineering maintenance to client properties.

Your duties will include fault finding, repairs, maintenance, and installations on the client sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, adjustments, testing, and troubleshooting of assigned mechanical equipment in accordance with plumbing codes, diagrams, operation manuals and manufacturer's maintenance instructions
  • Observe mechanical systems and fixtures in operation to detect failures or locate causes of malfunctions
  • Dismantle devices and remove defective parts
    Inspect used parts and equipment for changes in calibration, dimensional requirements and manufacturer's specifications
  • Test and calibrate systems and equipment to ensure proper system operations using test equipment or precision measuring instruments
  • Lay out work assignments, determine methods, techniques and materials needed to effectively accomplish assignments
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and Company policies related to building operations and work safety
  • Take responsibility for work and actions to show care
  • Demonstrate honesty to show respect to colleagues, the client and work
  • Ensure to show entrepreneurship by taking corrective action where necessary
  • Deliver a quality service through your day-to-day actions
  • Set high standards and strive to achieve them

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 2 NVQ certificate in Mechanical Engineering
  • City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering 1788 – previous additions will also be considered
  • Significant experience in providing mechanical building services maintenance to include fault finding, maintenance, installation, and inspection/testing
  • Significant previous experience in providing reactive and
  • PPM building services maintenance
  • Experience of working within FM or building services within commercial properties
  • Experience of working under strict Health & Safety procedures including risk assessments and method statements
  • Evidence Training and competence in managing High Risk Works (Mechanical)
  • Ability to explore a situation, assess and offer different options to formulate a plan that meets or exceeds objectives and expectations
