ROur client has been established for over 40 years and has become the largest and leading UK distributor of promotional workwear and leisure clothing. With a head office in North Wales and operations across Europe, the business offers a diverse range of products and operates within a fast-growing industry. Now employing over 500 staff and a turnover of £168m.
Due to further growth they have created a new role for an experienced Financial Accountant to manage the finance team and work closely with the Financial Controller.
Key areas of responsibility:
Financial reporting:
- Review of the monthly and annual accounts preparation across the Group
- Preparation of board reports and analysis to the monthly management accounts
- Authorisation of balance sheet reconciliations
- Monthly accounting reconciliations - control accounts/ intercompany accounts
- Analysing variances and working with budget holders to take mitigating action as necessary
- Preparation and consolidation of annual budgets and forecasts
Tax compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local/ European market financial laws, requirements, regulations and tax issues
- Tax planning and compliance in multi jurisdictions
Stakeholder relationships:
- Build and maintain relationships with bank, auditors, tax advisors and HMRC
Process improvement:
- Assist with the delivery and implementation of costs effective and efficient accounting and financial systems, policies and processes that meet the current and future business requirements of the business
- Challenge existing processes to develop and implement best practice
- Lead, coach and develop an engaged and motivated finance team
Qualifications / Experience required
- A recognised professional accounting qualification (either ACA, ACCA or ACMA)
- At least 3-5 years in a senior finance role
- Experience of working in a global corporation and across multi tax jurisdictions
- Ability to manage and lead a successful team
- High attention to detail
- Can understand complex technical accounting and taxation concepts
- Strong I.T. skills, in particular knowledge of the operation and administration of accounting systems

Hours are Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5pm and Friday 8.30am - 2.30pm
