The Management Accountant will play a pivotal role in our client's Accounting & Finance team, providing insights and analysis to help steer key business decisions. The successful candidate will be responsible for budgeting, performance evaluation, cost management, and asset management within an industrial / manufacturing business based in Deeside.

Description
Key responsibilities of the Management Accountant include:
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts.
- Provide detailed variance analysis and commentary on financial performance.
- Assist in annual budget preparation and rolling forecasts.
- Monitor and report against budgets, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Analyse production costs, material usage, and labour efficiency.
- Maintain and monitor standard costing systems.
- Investigate and explain cost variances, recommending improvements.
- Work closely with operations teams to provide financial insights.
- Support decision-making with cost-benefit analysis and scenario planning.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure accurate forecasting.
- Optimise inventory, receivables, and payables to maintain healthy working capital.
- Support preparation of investor reports and presentations.
- Ensure compliance with PE-specific reporting requirements and KPIs.
- Enhance financial systems and reporting tools.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements in financial and operational processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Support year-end audit processes and manage queries effectively.
Profile
A successful Management Accountant should have:
- Ideally working towards a professional accreditation such as CIMA or ACCA.
- QBE welcome
- Experience in Sage200 would be beneficial
- Ideally available on a shorter notice to gain suitable handover from incumbant
- Proficiency in Excel and financial software programs.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and willingness to think outside the box for solutions.
- A strong understanding of accounting and financial principles and practices.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with an understanding product costing - highly advantageous
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting financial information.
Job Offer
- A competitive salary range of 40,000 - 45,000.
- 28 days annual leave including bank holidays
- Early finish on Fridays (4pm).
