The Role
We are currently recruiting for an electrical site supervisor on behalf of a well-established M&E contracting business. This is a contract role based at a large industrial project in Shotton, Wales. The role involves overseeing the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced electrical supervisor with strong technical expertise who is looking to be part of a high-profile project.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical installations.
- Supervising electrical wiring work for lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
- Ensuring all wiring and installations meet safety standards and local regulations.
- Conducting tests on electrical systems to confirm functionality and compliance.
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults efficiently using appropriate testing equipment.
- Keeping accurate records of work completed, including installation details and maintenance logs.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safe working practices.
- Coordinating with project managers, engineers, and other trades to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
- Attending site meetings to discuss progress and resolve any project challenges.
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in electrical installation (e.g., City & Guilds 2365, NVQ Level 3).
- HNC/HND in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification.
- City & Guilds 2391 (inspection and testing) is beneficial.
- Proven experience in electrical installations, maintenance, or construction.
- Experience working on construction sites and a strong understanding of site safety requirements.
- ECS card (or equivalent certification).
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet project deadlines.
