Job Title: H&S Officer
Location: Deeside, Cheshire
Job Type: Contract, site based (Hourly Rate)
Working Hours: Weekdays - 7:30am - 7pm, Saturday: 7:30am - 4pm (1.5x Rate on Saturdays)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation of H&S policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant H&S legislation and industry standards.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, providing reports and recommendations.
  • Support delivery of H&S training.
  • Collaborate with different departments to promote a safe working environment.
  • Keep up to date with new H&S regulations and industry best practices.
  • Maintain records of inspections, audits, and safety compliance reports.
  • Support the development of emergency response and evacuation procedures.

Key Requirements:

  • Occupational H&S, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • [NEBOSH/IOSH/] certification (or equivalent) preferred
  • Experience in a H&S advisory role
  • Strong knowledge of H&S legislation and best practices
  • Excellent communication and ability to work with multiple contractors
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and audits effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report writing

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in industrial construction.
  • Ability to work with contractors and other key members of staff.
  • Up to date CSCS card
