An innovative and ambitious organisation is embarking on a transformational journey to create one of the largest container board and tissue production facilities in the UK. This is a rare opportunity to join the team a Production Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in building a world-class manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and corporate compliance standards.
  • Oversee the construction and commissioning of a state-of-the-art tissue machine, through to successful start-up.
  • Inspire, lead, and develop a high-performing production team, fostering collaboration and engagement.
  • Drive recruitment, team development, and performance management processes.
  • Optimise machine performance by working closely with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to achieve world-class results.
  • Manage budgets effectively, aligned with group structures.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by implementing lean tools and processes from the outset.
  • Leverage advanced digital systems for data analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments, including engineering, finance, and HR, to ensure seamless operations.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a forward-thinking leader with the following attributes:

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Papermaking (essential).
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a senior-level role within papermaking or a similar field.
  • Leadership qualifications, such as an MBA or ILM Level 5+.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with SAP and strong IT proficiency.
  • A proactive, results-driven mindset with a focus on problem-solving and innovation.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Working Conditions

Initially based onsite in a project setting during the construction phase, working predominantly from portacabins. Travel within the UK and overseas may be required.
