Our client, a leading company in the external works sector, is currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Finance & Payroll Assistant to join their dynamic team. This full-time role is crucial for maintaining the smooth operation of the company’s financial and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchase Ledger: Manage and process purchase invoices, reconcile supplier statements, prepare payment reports, and handle expenses and fuel administration using Sage.
- Sales Ledger: Oversee sales invoicing, and assist in debt management and client payment schedules.
- Payroll: Set up new employees in the timekeeping software, monitor timesheets for accurate payroll processing, and manage absence reporting.
- Administration: Provide exemplary customer service over the phone, manage meeting logistics, and support general office administration.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Essential:
- AAT qualification (full or part-qualified).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- High attention to detail, especially with financial data.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Sage accounting software.
- At least 2 years of experience in a finance-focused administrative role.
- Desirable:
- Experience with CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) transactions.
- Knowledge of VAT returns and journal entries.
