Are you a creative and innovative teacher with a passion for Design Technology?

We are looking for a dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join our forward-thinking team at a high school in Flintshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across a variety of design disciplines, inspiring students to develop both practical skills and creative problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Design Technology to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Deliver lessons on topics such as product design, systems and control, textiles, and more
  • Create and plan engaging lessons that promote creativity, critical thinking, and practical skills
  • Provide support and guidance to students during practical tasks and projects
  • Assess students' work, provide constructive feedback, and monitor progress
  • Maintain and manage equipment and resources in the Design Technology department
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities related to the subject
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages collaboration and experimentation

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A relevant teaching qualification (QTS)
  • A strong background in Design Technology or a related field
  • Experience teaching Design Technology at KS3 and KS4 is desirable
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Passion for creative subjects and a desire to inspire students
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students
  • Experience with CAD software, workshop tools, and other relevant technologies is a plus
