Junior PHP Developer

A successful 70 year old manufacturing business are on a mission to bring their development work in house which has opened the door for a Junior Developer to join the team.

Their mission is to design products of the highest quality that combine the latest tech with strength, durability and cost all considered.

*Due to the learning / development side of this role it is a 5 day on site role where you'll work closely with a Senior to support your development *

Is this for you?

• The Software Development team are looking to bring a Junior Software Developer on board who is eager to learn about the full development lifecycle. 
• This role would benefit someone who has completed a Computer Science degree in the last 12 months who has some industry experience from a placement year working with the Microsoft technologies.   
• This could also be well matched for someone already working in the industry who has commercial experience under their belt and understands the fundamentals of PHP programming.   

The Technology & Projects

• You will work as part of an internal IT team however collaboration with other 3rd party providers will arise as well as the opportunity to work closely with key internal stakeholders to co-ordinate and deliver development improvements 
• The development team are fully autonomous, with the ability to steer and make technical decisions around the infrastructure and software. 
• You’ll work with PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, MYSQL in a full stack capacity. 

Your Career Development 

• As this is a small team you will get valuable one to one hands on learning / coaching time with the Senior Developer and Software Development Manager who collectively have over 20 years working as Software Developers with the Microsoft technologies. Plenty of knowledge sharing to be had here! 
• Their goal is to spend time working with you so that you become a Senior member of the team and learn important techniques and coding practices so that you can be the best developer you can. 

Package & Interview Process

• Base salary up to £30,000, 25 days Hol + Bank hols and more  

• Extremely relaxed culture, you can work the hours that suit you best so if that means starting / finishing outside of the typical 9-5 then that’s fine. 
• 2 stage interview process where you will meet with a range of people within the team who can give you a real insight as to what it’s like to work there. You have the choice to do the interview remotely via Teams or in person, whichever suits you.
