SUMMARY:
Responsible for setting up and operating one or more Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines or manual woodworking machines such as saws and edge banders. Operate the Bonding machines to glue pieces of wood together or press and affix wood veneer to wood surfaces. Working to a high standard of quality in the finishing of laminate and veneer panels and with aluminum extrusions completing drilling and routing. Responsible for daily preventative maintenance including May cleaning and lubricating the equipment and replacing parts, as necessary. An understanding of a high standard required in the finishing of the laminate and veneer panels also working with aluminum extrusions drilling and routing. as well as performing housekeeping and preventative maintenance. This position works in a team environment. Meeting all company and departmental standards and guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Scheduling machining tasks in the most efficient way
- Choosing the right tools for each stage of the machining process
- Carrying out quality assurance on finished pieces
- Follow and promote safe work practices and r.
- Report all hazards, unsafe acts, and conditions immediately to your manager.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices and always follow health and safety protocols.
- Wear proper PPE as required.
- Ability to work in a very physically active role.
- Provide ad hoc support to the factory teams when required.
- Participate and submit new and improved work methods in alignment with the Suggested Method Improvement program.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- GCSEs or equivalent required in Maths and English
- A satisfactory level of written and spoken English.
- 2 years Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
Desirable:
- Level 1 Certificate in Performing Engineering Operations
- Level 1 Certificate in Engineering and Manufacturing
- Level 2 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering
EDUCATION AND SKILLS/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Good manual dexterity
- Have a good eye for detail and the ability to provide high quality work with high accuracy.
- Be able to multitask, problem-solve and can work towards deadlines.
- Be able to work as part of a team and work alone to complete tasks.
- Valid Driving UK Licence (ideally but not essential)
- Demonstrate flexibility and enthusiasm.
- Strong people skills and the ability to work effectively and in a team environment with all internal customers.
- Adaptable and flexible and open to change.
Desirable
- Valid Driving UK Licence (ideally but not essential)
- FLT license
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings, safety rules, operating and d maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to communicate clearly and effectively to management and team members.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to conduct ongoing manual work, and upon occasions lift goods up to 25kg. Required to read and visually observe with close vision, distance vision and colour vision.
