Job Title: Band 7 Sonographer - Radiography Department

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Band 7 Sonographer to join our Radiography Department on a temporary basis. This role requires a sonographer with a minimum of a PgC in Medical Ultrasound from a CASE-accredited university, with expertise in general medical and gynecological ultrasound, including transvaginal (TV) scanning. Skills in DVT, musculoskeletal (MSK), and neck ultrasound are advantageous but not essential. The caseload is primarily outpatient, with some inpatient responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ultrasound Imaging: Conduct ultrasound scans, including general medical, gynecology (with TV scanning), and DVT assessments.
  • Patient Care: Provide high-quality, compassionate care to both outpatient and inpatient cases, ensuring patient comfort and understanding throughout the examination.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, liaising with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnoses and continuity of care.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document findings, create comprehensive reports, and ensure timely and efficient patient records management in line with departmental protocols.
Person Specification

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum PgC in Medical Ultrasound from a CASE-accredited university
  • Proven experience in performing general medical and gynecological ultrasound, including transvaginal scanning
  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare staff effectively

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in DVT, MSK, and neck ultrasound (not essential)
