Financial Accountant – Derby (Fixed Term Contract, 12-18 months)

£35,000 to £45,000

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Financial Accountant to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team in Derby, via a third-party recruitment agency. This role offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your accounting expertise in a supportive environment, with flexibility around working hours. The position is available on a long-term Fixed Term Contract, with an immediate start, and can be full-time or part-time (4-day week).

Key Responsibilities

As a Financial Accountant, your main duties will include:

Preparing accurate and timely financial accounts.

Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations.

Preparing monthly profit and loss statements.

Managing Fixed Asset accounting, reporting, monitoring, and forecasting.

Preparing VAT returns.

Handling P11d preparation and submission.

Supporting audit processes, including liaising with external auditors and contributing to the generation of Statutory Accounts.

Assisting in continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.

Collaborating with the wider finance team to ensure smooth operations.

What are we looking for?

Qualified, Part-Qualified, or QBE Accountant with significant experience in a finance role.

Strong accounting knowledge with excellent analytical skills.

Detail-oriented, methodical, and able to solve problems efficiently.

Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Experience within a manufacturing or factory environment is advantageous but not essential.
