Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of trial balance at month end ensuring all appropriate profit & loss, Accruals & Prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations are performed
  • Agreement and reconciliation of Inter-co balances
  • Subsequent preparation of month end pack, slide deck and supporting group reviews
  • Preparation and posting of the monthly journals
  • Monitoring & analysis of overhead spend against Budget, Forecasts & Prior Year
  • Assisting with variance analysis and system reconciliations/analysis
  • Provide inputs to the annual Budget and Reforecasting process
  • Provide input to periodic flash forecasts on headline financials (Sales/EBITDA)
  • Rolling 13-week cash flow forecast
  • Business partnering with the wider business - building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues in other departments to strengthen financial accuracy
  • Maintenance of Cash Book, Sales Ledger, Fixed Asset Register & Working Capital
  • Supplier Statement Reconciliations and issuing Customer Statements
  • Preparation and submission of Vat Returns
  • Reconciliation of VAT control accounts
  • Assist with year-end statutory accounts and tax reporting
  • Assist with annual stock take process

Candidate Profile

· Fully Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) Accountant

· Excellent communication skills, including up to Head Office level Senior Management

· Attention to detail and accuracy of information provision is paramount

· Ability to work to tight deadlines

· Sound working knowledge of double entry book-keeping & accounting principles

· Used to working in a fast paced, quick task turnaround situations

· Ability to multi-task within a change environment

· Ability to challenge in the right way

· Collaboration with and coaching of non-finance colleagues

· Strong team working ethics

· Experience of maintaining accounts on an ERP system

· Strong working knowledge of Excel

· Best practice knowledge sharing and continuous improvement attitude
