Project Accountant

Location: Pride Park, Derby (Hybrid – 2-3 days on-site)

Salary: £55,000

Are you an experienced Accountant with a passion for driving change and improving financial processes? This newly created role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and make a significant impact within an ambitious organisation set to double in size over the next five years.

  • Shape the Future: Partner with the Group Financial Controller to streamline processes, enhance reporting, and support the business through rapid growth.
  • Lead Key Projects: Take ownership of finance projects, including improving systems, enhancing management information (MI) packs, and supporting group consolidation across four diverse business areas (including Financial Advisory, IT, and Software Systems).
  • Make an Impact: Drive continuous process improvement and financial efficiencies across a £35m turnover group while being involved in strategic initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Collaborate with the Financial Controller on strategic projects and quarterly management account consolidation.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and year-end accounts processes.
  • Enhance financial systems and reporting for greater accuracy.
  • Produce MI packs, maintain balance sheet reconciliations, and analyse profitability.
  • Assist with statutory reporting and financial statements preparation.
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or Qualified by Experience (QBE).
  • Strong accounting knowledge with experience in management and financial accounts.
  • Proficient in Excel and Sage 200.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders.
