Astute Recruitment are seeking a meticulous, dynamic, and dedicated Accounts Assistant to join our Derby based client. This role is ideal for someone who has a genuine passion for accounts and a keen eye for detail.

As Accounts Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include managing both purchase and sales ledgers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the accounts team.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing purchase invoices and matching them to purchase orders
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Handling sales ledger tasks including invoicing, credit control and customer account reconciliation
  • Maintaining the cashbook
  • Assisting with month-end closing and preparation of financial reports
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Providing support to finance team as required

Candidate requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of both purchase and sales ledger processes (Ideally at least one years’ experience of each)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
