Purchase Ledger Clerk
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a well-established and independent IT Service Provider. This company delivers a range of IT support services, including help desk support, rapid response on-site repair, and maintenance for some of the most prestigious high-street brands.
Location: Derby (Hybrid) Sector: Finance / Accounts Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Up to £24,000 per annum
Role Overview:
This role will support the Finance Officer - Purchase Ledger, working across multiple companies within the group. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and have a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Ledger:
- Process invoices, credit notes, company expenses, and Barclaycard transactions, ensuring accuracy before and after posting.
- Administer and process company expense claims and credit card expenditure in line with company policy.
- Prepare and complete payment runs efficiently.
- Liaise with purchasing teams, department managers, and other key stakeholders to resolve queries via phone, email, or in person.
- Ensure adherence to strict deadlines, distribute invoices, and manage supplier statements.
- Oversee purchase ledger cut-off, month-end routines, and account approvals.
- Maintain purchase ledger records, files, and financial schedules.
General Ledger & Treasury:
- Perform daily bank postings and reconciliations.
- Support general ledger activities as required.
Additional Duties:
- Provide cover across all areas of the purchase ledger department.
- Carry out administrative duties as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in a busy and complex purchase ledger environment is essential.
- Experience in treasury and general ledger is desirable.
- Strong understanding of finance processes and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Proactive, flexible, and adaptable approach to work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience with Business Central would be advantageous.
