Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as microbiology, biochemistry, haematology, or transfusion science.
  • Process and analyse patient samples, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy in results.
  • Assist in the preparation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and reagents.
  • Work in collaboration with senior Biomedical Scientists and other healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols, laboratory guidelines, and quality control standards.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualification: BSc in Biomedical Science (or equivalent).
  • HCPC Registration (or eligibility for registration).
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in a specific discipline (e.g., microbiology, haematology) is an advantage but not essential.
  • Knowledge of laboratory health and safety standards and regulations.
