Planner (Primevera P6) Heavy Civils/ Water Industry in Derby, East Midlands.

Location: Derby

A leading integrated design and build provider in the water sector is currently seeking a skilled Planner to join their growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing a variety of water and wastewater projects, with an expected programme value of £150m per year. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to projects across the Severn Trent region, offering hybrid working conditions and a competitive salary between £55,000 - £65,000 per annum.

In this role, the Planner will take ownership of project plans, working closely with the project team to ensure milestones are met and any potential delays or risks are proactively managed. The ideal candidate will have experience with Primavera P6 and a strong understanding of the water industry, as well as the ability to communicate complex information effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining detailed project plans for the full project lifecycle
  • Managing resources, identifying risks, and monitoring critical paths and milestones
  • Collaborating with senior planners and supply chains to incorporate relevant information into the project plan
  • Producing high-quality schedules and ensuring baseline management
  • Conducting regular programme quality checks

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A proven track record in project planning within the water industry
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in pressurised environments
  • A collaborative approach to planning and problem-solving
  • Experience with Primavera P6
  • A proactive, adaptable attitude to meet project objectives

A technical degree in a relevant field is desirable but not mandatory.
