Your new companyYou will be joining a civil engineering contractor based in Derby operating across a multitude of different sectors. This multi-accredited main contractor has a strong pipeline of work across the power and commercial industries and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. They pride themselves on teamwork, respect, integrity, excellence and the wellbeing of their team, and due to continued success, they are looking to onboard an Estimator to join them.Your new roleAs Estimator, you will be based out of their Derby office and be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Preparing and submitting tenders and budgets
  • Obtaining quotations for subcontract work, materials and plant
  • Assessing the risk levels associated with projects
  • Monitoring the stages of the projects to ensure costs are kept in line with forecasts
  • Assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting buying activities
  • Establishing and maintaining good relationships with client representatives, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Conducting site visits as and when required.

Working hours are 8:45am to 5:15pm with flexibility to start/finish earlier.

What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful, you must have:

  • Experience measuring and pricing works from first principles
  • Excellent communication skills and possess proactive and self-motivated attributes
  • Full UK driving licence.
