They are a leading furniture importer/wholesaler in the UK that has grown to be one of the largest companies in the furniture sector. Purpose of the Commercial Manager role:

Our client is looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking Commercial Manager to join their team. You will play a pivotal role in managing and supporting a team of Commercial Executives, ensuring they receive the guidance they need to excel in their roles. Youll also take ownership of some of their long-standing, high-value accounts, providing them with the attention and focus they deserve, while relieving senior leadership to work on broader strategic priorities. This is an exciting opportunity to make the role your own, working in a client-facing position where youll meet key accounts face-to-face, and actively seek growth opportunities.


Main duties and responsibilities of the Commercial Manager:

  • Lead, support, and manage a team of Commercial Executives, providing guidance and mentoring as required.
  • Serve as the primary contact for some of the companys long-standing accounts, ensuring exceptional service and relationship management.
  • Meet clients face-to-face to strengthen relationships, discuss growth opportunities, and provide strategic account management.
  • Actively review accounts websites and data weekly to identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Commercial and Commercial & Sales Director to execute business goals, while relieving their workload to allow for a broader focus on business expansion.
  • Oversee new customer onboarding, ensuring a seamless and professional process.
  • Drive initiatives to improve team efficiency, processes, and overall account management.
  • Use your initiative to identify and act on opportunities to improve account performance and team functionality.

Experience/knowledge requirements for the Commercial Manager:

  • 2-3 years of experience, ideally within the retail, furniture, or wholesale industry.
  • Proven ability to lead, support, and inspire a team.
  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills to juggle multiple accounts and team responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident and well-presented in client-facing situations.
  • A self-starter who can hit the ground running and thrives on constant improvement.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • A driven individual who is passionate about growth, innovation, and delivering results.
