The role is 12-month contract with possibility of going perm after that.
Job description - the role
- You will operate in a busy, world-class engineering and manufacturing environment and be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. Your role as a Machinist would be machining discs and drums using multiple machining platforms to conforming standards, this could be roughing, intermediate or finishing operations.
- You will work with manufacturing programming engineers to implement continuous improvements within the machining programmes. The on-time delivery of components right first time quality is a key objective within the machining team play a pivotal part of delivering this goal and delivering our commitments to customer on time.
As a CNC Machinist you will be responsible for:
- Work to Client's Technical Instructions to deliver consistent, high quality inspection across a variety of different components and product families.
- Operate a variety of measuring equipment, including, Micrometres, plug gauges, and surface finish equipment.
- The interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications and understanding programmes.
- The assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.
- Work within a team to effectively to ensure we hit our customer commitments.
What we require from the candidate:
- NVQ Level 3 or time served engineering apprenticeship, with previous experience relevant to the role you are applying for is essential.
- Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, Technical instruction and asset care
- Looking for candidates who are pro-active and patient individuals that are capable of managing their time effectively.
- An individual who is confident to work alone or part of a team and will strive to achieve delivery commitments
- Someone who is confident and willing to partake in champion roles
