CNC Operator – Derby

Location: Derby
Salary: £30,000 - £37,000 per annum
Shifts: Monday to Friday, Days (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, 30-minute lunch break)

This well-established company, founded in 1983, is a renowned specialist in classic Aston Martin vehicles. They provide a comprehensive range of services, including full restorations, servicing, engine and drivetrain refurbishments, and the sale of classic Aston Martin cars. Their expertise spans models such as the DB4, DB5, DB6, DBS, AM V8, Virage, Vantage, DB7, and Vanquish. With state-of-the-art CNC machining capabilities, they craft body panels, suspension components, interior trims, and mechanical systems, ensuring precise, high-quality restoration of these iconic vehicles. Key Responsibilities:

  • CNC Machining: Operate a Haas 3-axis CNC milling machine, with potential upgrades to a 5-axis model. Manufacture up to 30 precision components for classic Aston Martin restorations.
  • CAD Design: Reverse engineer and create parts using Fusion 360 CAD software. Model complex components, including suspension parts, caps, and anti-roll clamps (training available for the right candidate).
  • Programming & Setup: Input CAD-designed components into the CNC machine, ensuring high-quality, precise parts are produced.

The Successful Candidate Requires:

  • Proven experience operating CNC milling machines (3-axis or 5-axis desirable).
  • Ability to produce precision components, ideally within the automotive or restoration sector.
  • Experience working with a range of parts, from small intricate components to larger mechanical elements.
  • Understanding of automotive restoration processes, with a focus on classic or luxury vehicles.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with Fusion 360 CAD software for reverse engineering.
  • Previous experience in the automotive or engineering industry is a plus.
